Just a Question??

All this talk about founders and our countries history it makes me think about what would have happen if things would have happened differently. I mean it is something to ponder. We have had hitorians trying to figure out our history and what it means for years, but what if they are wrong. What if they have the facts mixed up?What if our lives are based on facts that may not be the best idea. I am not in anyway saying that it is, i am just saying that it is a thought to think about. I have tried to think about this in my everyday life. How many lies do we use or live by in an average day of our lives. The lies we tell, the lies friends tell, even the lies our family's tell .Lets not lie (how ironic) we all have lies that we have no choice to tell. Maybe they are little white lies, but either way they are lies. Was the same principle lived by, by our founders? Its a question that i am truly in trusted in finding out.

We Are Who We Are

In the begging the world was founded. Through out many stories that were passed down from generation to generation of many different people. We may not know which ones are true, but some of these stories play a critical role in things that we still believe today. The flood for instence. W may believe that it can from the Bible and God sent the floood to wipe away the wicked from the earth. But a long time ago they believed diffrently. Did that play a role in what we believe today. Does that mean the flood really happend? We will never rally know and that is for sure, but what we do know is that as a people in this country and in the world, we have evolved from these stories. thay may have been altered of changed as thay ahave bben passed down through the years. But we are the people we are today because of the history that we are learning about in the present day.

Think About It!!

Even our county's founders had the right idea back in the day. If you want it done right you hve to do it yourself. Thomas Jefferson once said "Do you want to know who you are? Don't ask. Act! Action will delineate and define you". I took meaning from this quote because i feel like it is the truth. We were talking in my American Lit class about how if you have people that are under you doing a job and it is done wrong it is still your fault. I mean think about the quote that Jefferson said, ACT!! If you act on your responsible and get what you have to done than you know it was done right and you do not have to question it. I feel like this is how people in the old days felt. We referred to T. Jefferson in class as a man who knew that the people closest to him had to be good people. I think that  is a lesson that people of every age should know. If you surround yourself with people that are going to reflect good of you than you will keep a reputation of being good. There are so many things to learn from our  founders if we just pay attention to the little details.

Liberty

Liberty! What is liberty? Some would say that liberty is the same thing or closely related to freedom. Well in my opinion it  is but i think we let the word liberty roll to loosely  off our tongue. Our founders people like Thomas Jefferson and Benjamin Franklin worked their whole lives to give us the freedom or liberty that we have today. But we take it for granted. I feel that we should be more thankful for everything our founders did for us. They had to have patience and perseverance to achieve the goal of liberty. Thomas Jefferson even his his life time believed that your religion was your choice and you were free to express it as you wanted. I feel as though my time in American Lit has thought me that the people (our Founders) are not so different from us in this day in age. I mean we still have the same thoughts and feel the same. Maybe it was passed down from generation to generation to think the way we do, but liberty and we don't even think about it being given to us. Our founders earned it, but we didn't.If we don't understand what liberty is then how do we expect to keep it?
